Our Story

Cydean LLC was founded in 2003 to continue our founder’s successful value-added approach to real estate investment. The company seeks multi-family apartment investment opportunities in low to moderate income neighborhoods within the New York metropolitan area. We look to identify underutilized assets and improve cash flow in a manner which is sustainable and beneficial to our investors as well as local communities.

Through our use of quantitative and qualitative criteria, we identify mismanaged or under-capitalized properties and add value through improved financing, renovation and management. This approach to real estate investment has resulted in superior risk adjusted returns over many years.

Uncover Relative Value

Cydean LLC’s Managing Partner successfully acquired a brownstone in this neighborhood when Clinton Hill was undervalued relative to other areas such as Fort Greene and Park Slope. In the ensuing years property values and rent rolls have increased dramatically as demographic changes brought new families and businesses to the area.

Utilize Local Knowledge & Network

This acquisition created the template for Cydean LLC’s successful investment strategy. Fort Greene is a centrally located neighborhood with easy access to public transit. By leveraging local relationships to identify and acquire underutilized properties, the team’s Managing Partner has made multiple successful investments in this neighborhood.
